"The Mystery of the Yellow Room" is a mystery novel written by Gaston Leroux. It was first published in 1907 and is one of the first locked-room mystery novels. The story revolves around a complex crime in which the criminal seemingly disappears from a locked room. The protagonist, Joseph Rouletabille, is a reporter and amateur sleuth who is sent to investigate the case. Eventually, Rouletabille reveals that the culprit is Larsan himself, who is accused of being an alter-ego of a master criminal called Ballmeyer.
