One of the challenges of raising Christian children is broaching the topic of sin which too easily slips into feelings of shame or pointing at what their siblings or classmates are doing wrong. What is important is having a loving conversation to help them be aware of how sin is all around us, but so are people who want to help them learn to let their light shine.
A favorite Christmas story is of course Santa who gives presents to all the good little children. Talking to children about sin can be difficult when Santa is telling them that being good is necessary to get presents. Santa says they’re good.
