With Mama and the rest of her relatives, Strawberry, the auburn-colored calf, was very comfortable in her straw-covered pen, her life secure and free of concern; her every need met by Farmer and Farmer's Daughter. When Strawberry unexpectedly goes on the adventure of her life, she finds exploring God's great, wide-open earth with its many different sight and sounds quite baffling. Charting unknown territory, Strawberry discovers surprisingly that she can depend on herself to make it on her own...for a little while. She comes to understand, however, that she is unable to find her own way home and leans on God and her newfound forest friends, Squirrel, Deer and Turkey, to help her steer clear of trouble. At every turn, her prayers get answered in the most unexpected ways as she struggles to find the way home.
