• Today, how to handle conflict ranks as the highest area of concern for CEOs; when asked what the biggest area for their own personal development is, nearly 43 percent of CEOs rated conflict management skills as being the highest. • According to Gallup, fewer than 27 percent of all employees today are highly engaged in their work; the 19,000 public companies and 6 million private companies, employing a total of more than 120,000,000 people in the US today know this, and are increasingly attempting to address this issue by working on conflict. • According to the Global Human Capital Report conducted by CPP, Inc., 85% of employees deal with conflict to some degree, and 29% of those said that they deal with conflict always or frequently. It estimated that an average employee in the US spends 2.8 hours per week dealing with conflict, which equates to 355 million working days per year, globally. It indicated that 67% of employees avoided colleagues due to bad feelings from conflict, and 25% called in sick or stayed away from work to avoid conflict.
